International Poetry Day

Poetry is a universal art form and March 21 saw Thornhill celebrating World Poetry day with POET-TREES outside each year group. Humorous poems were found on each ‘Poet-tree’ for the pupils to read and enjoy. The poems are not just about laughter, but about fostering a love of poetry, stimulating creativity and recognizing different language forms. While engaging with humorous poetry, our pupils develop important literary skills while having fun along the way. They learn to discern underlying themes and hidden messages and moral lessons disguised in the humour.

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the Thornhill Primary School website, filled with information which, we hope, will attract your interest and serve to give a sense of the rich flavour of life at our school.
