News from Std 4

This week the Std 4 children plunged into a perfectly picked poetic adventure. Our creative juices were flowing while we brushed up on some exciting ways to make our creative writing more interesting. Some of these elements have rather interesting sounding names like alliteration, onomatopoeia, and personification! Although these names sound scary, we were able to expand our poetic skills and become the next Shakespeares of the literary world.

Here are two pieces of wonderful creative work from the children:

Bumbly Mushroom Land

‘Bumbly Mushroom Land,
With people wearing white only,
Mushrooms as many as bands,
Nobody ever gets lonely,
Bumbly Mushroom Land.
Bumbly Mushroom Land,
People wading through the sea,
Holding tightly, hand in hand,
Only you and me,
Bumbly Mushroom Land.
Bumbly Mushroom Land,
With cats and dogs playing in the sand,
Elephants wearing banana hats,
Leopards selling deer skin mats,
The Bumbly Mushroom Land,
The Bumbly Mushroom Land!’
- Cecelia Fan

The Moon

‘The sun falls
The moon sits in her halls
Getting ready for the night
To show her beautiful light
She starts to sing
With her ring
Oh, oh night
I’ll shine my light
Throughout the night’
- Nooreh Sidat
